You'll find a rare gem of an IT expert at Internos: our Chief Technology Officer Richard Blanco. With 15 years of dedicated service, Richard has been the guiding force behind our technological innovations, ensuring that we're at the forefront of IT support for our clients.
As a seasoned expert, Richard's responsibilities span far and wide. He excels in assessing and addressing technology issues with meticulous attention to detail, a skill that greatly enhances our Escalation team. He's also deeply involved in evaluating client environments before onboarding and in crafting tailored solutions for them.
Richard's journey in the IT world began in the mid '90s, working as an IT technician while completing his degree at Florida International University. From there, he stepped into the role of IT manager for Intergen's Latin America division, where he gained invaluable experience in managing diverse technologies and corporate operations.
In 2002, Richard's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish PlanIT Systems, his IT consulting firm, where he assisted numerous South Florida businesses with their IT needs. Eight years later, he joined New Global Solutions, which later merged with ReadyIT to become Internos, a journey he's cherished along the way to his current role.
What truly drives Richard is his passion for architecting solutions that cater to each client's unique business needs. He revels in harnessing the power of modern cloud technologies to transform how businesses operate, making the seemingly impossible a reality. Richard's dedication to staying on the cutting edge of technology benefits both Internos and our clients.
He also wishes more clients understood that managing technology is both an art and a science. While there are rules to follow (the science), tailoring solutions to meet specific business needs is where the real challenge lies (the art). This dedication and diligence are what set Richard and Internos apart.
Beyond his professional life, Richard is a family man with a 26-year marriage and three wonderful children. His weekends often find him in the Florida Keys, enjoying the laid-back atmosphere and savoring moments of relaxation.
Richard's roots trace back to the Kendall area of Miami, and as a child, he dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot, inspired by his love for airplanes. Though his career took a different path, his passion for aviation persists.
One of his most cherished experiences was visiting Paris and the Normandy region in France with his wife, Mary, where he paid tribute to the sacrifices made during World War II. And if you're ever looking to surprise him with a treat, Cuban natilla or arroz con leche will surely do the trick.
In the world of cinema, "Inception" takes the crown as his favorite movie, and when it comes to sports, you'll find Richard rooting for the Miami Heat. And here's a little secret: He's a massive Star Trek and Star Wars fan, but when it comes to choosing sides, Star Trek always wins.
